Fellowship
The Mosaic Community began in the hearts, soul and minds of a
small core group of committed followers of Christ in the Upstate
over a two-year period. God placed a passion and desire in the
hearts of these men and women to picture a different kind of
church than any of them had ever experienced. First, the core
group came to this individually and independently of one
another (over an 18-20-month period), then God brought them
together as a community with a vision for reaching
non-Christians and the unchurched through non-traditional
methods and approaches. God began to work in this very small
group and brought them together so they could pray, dream
and begin to see God’s vision for reaching the unchurched
culture. They also shared a passion for creative ministry-service,
personal growth and approaches to worship that would be
culturally relevant.
talked and planned with the group, while the other was serving
on the pastoral staff of a church in Florida. Through a series of
emails, phone calls, cards, notes, and meetings, God finally
brought the two pastors and this small group of Christ-followers
together. For several months they prayed and waited for God to
move. Slowly, God began to reveal that they all shared a
common passion and vision for a different kind of church---a
church that would reach unchurched people through unique
ministries and non-traditional approaches. A church for the
unchurched!

This group formally nailed down their commitment, mission and
God-vision in a small group meeting on Thursday, March 21,
2002, at a home in Easley, South Carolina.

We are a young community of faith, and still very much in
diapers. We have much to learn, but we are excited about the
vision God has given us to see changed lives in the Upstate. We
will make mistakes because we are not perfect people. Like all
humans, we are flawed individuals, but we have experienced
God’s unconditional love also called grace through Jesus Christ.
As a result of our experience and relationship with Jesus, we
cannot help but share Him with others.

We know God can change lives (no matter where your life is)
because we have been changed by God’s love and we’ve
seen it change the lives of many others. We are committed to
making Mosaic a place where all people are welcome, connect
with others, are encouraged, and can grow in their faith journey.

We invite you to consider becoming a part of this wild, reckless,
and joyful ride of faith. We’re committed to doing whatever it
takes to reach our culture and tell them about Jesus Christ.
Fasten your seatbelt, turn the page and enjoy the ride!

people had a connection
