WORSHIP at MCF

At Mosaic, we believe worship is about playing to an audience of One.  It’s not about a building, the preaching-teaching pastor, what you wear, the music, whether you have a praise band, choir, orchestra, drama, or the person next to you.  We believe God is the focus of worship and not anything human.

So we imagine ourselves being on the stage of life and we are living out our worship to an audience of One----God!  It doesn’t matter what others think.  It’s our response to all that God has done, is doing and will do.  We focus on Him because He chose to focus on us through His son, Jesus Christ.  In John’s story of Jesus, before He died on the cross, Jesus told His followers, “But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all persons to myself."   As a faith community we believe that if we lift Jesus up in our worship, people will be drawn to Him and not by anything we do, but only by the power of God.

We are non-traditional in our worship and faith community

Non-traditional does not mean anti-traditional.  We are simply non-traditional.  We believe worship should be relevant.  You shouldn’t have to learn a whole new language and culture to understand what it is going on.   Our worship lead team tries to imagine what it’s like to be somewhere you’ve never been before.  You shouldn’t feel out of place, in fact if you come to our weekly worship we believe this is exactly where God wants you for that moment. That’s why our weekly worship celebrations are casual, comfortable, real and biblical. Some people will raise their hands, clap, others will cry and hopefully all of us will smile or, laugh at least once.  If God moves you to clap, raise your hand, or sit in silent reflection, then we want you to do just that.    Remember worship  is  for  an

audience of One.  We sing songs that use the same words and language you use in your daily conversation.  You won’t need a dictionary to understand it.  Most of our praise songs are taken straight out of scripture and just like some of the ancient songs (called Psalms) they have lines that repeat.  Sometimes we even use older songs called hymns with a contemporary sound.  We use lots of video clips, skits, visual arts and multi-sensory media to teach biblical truths that are applicable and relevant, lessons you can use as soon as you walk out the door.  We believe a worship experience should be more than ancient motions or rituals.  It should hit us right where we live because God’s word is not some static, lifeless, ancient old book.  It is living, active and relevant for today.

Weekly "Worship Celebrations" are an integral part of MCF.  We come together as a body of One to bring glory to God through a variety of worship experiences.
